Attracting Coffee and Art Lovers

I have long been interested in the idea of the law of attraction. However, I’ve never actually put it into practice. The other day though, I had something come up that would require a great deal of faith to make happen. I told God/the universe, “Look, if you want this to happen, you’re going to have to let me know you’re going to help me.” That’s when things got a bit strange.

On the way to Michaels, we passed a sign in a church parking lot that read

Faith is taking the first step even when you can’t see the whole staircase

Stranger still, yesterday afternoon I asked my boyfriend to pick something for us to watch. He told me he’d chosen a movie called the Secret and it looked interesting. I’d read The Secret years ago, and vaguely remembered what it was about. After watching it, it seemed even more of a nudge for me to ask, believe, and receive. “This is crazy coincidental!” I thought, but it was about to get a bit crazier.

After our lazy movie day, we were hungry and wanted delivery, but not pizza. I hadn’t really ordered delivery from anywhere else in my new house, and we were debating what to have for dinner. Whilst in the middle of conversation, my son Richie interrupts to ask us to cut up a cardboard box he’s found to play with. Kevin takes it to cut it up, and inside is a Chinese delivery menu. We laughed in surprise-guess we’re supposed to have Chinese!

So, we order the food and wait. I started to grow impatient because I get hangry, and thus decided I’d visualize the food being here. I imagined a car pulling up, and seeing a guy get out with plastic bags full of fried rice, veggies, and egg drop soup. I could even taste it. Kevin said something to the effect of hopefully they’ll be here soon because he could sense the impending she hulk, but I replied very confidently (and shocking the hell out of myself), “they’re here.” He smirked at me, thinking I was being silly, but then Richie goes to the front door and says, “Mom…there’s a car out front.” My mouth almost hit the floor. Kevin thought I was cheating by seeing the headlights reflecting on the door glass, but I couldn’t. I even had him sit where I was so I could prove I had no way of knowing. I was excited and blown away at the same time. Could this be real!? After eating our food, we decided to all read our fortune cookies. Kevin asked me if I wanted to keep the one I’d pulled from the bag, or if we should swap. I said swap because giving is receiving right?! We tossed them in the air to each other. I caught that cookie, and I kid you not, when I cracked it open and pulled the paper out it said

Imagine your ideals, then make them real.

I looked around for Ashton Kutcher (yes, that was a Punked reference), and he was nowhere to be found. My face must have been full of shock because Kevin and the kids were like what is it!?

It’s time to try it out-I’ve nothing to lose. For the next 3 weeks, I am going to visualize selling one piece of art, and getting a free caramel macchiato. No tricks, gimmicks, or Starbucks gift cards in my possession. Someone has to offer to buy me the coffee, and I currently have no known pending art sales. I’m going to give this a good try and report back shortly. Have you tried using the law of attraction? Does it work for you? Let me know!

Love & Luck,

Ashley
